At Moseley Avenue Surgery we're committed to training the Doctor's & GPs of the future. From April 2019 we are going to be having pairs of 2nd year Warwick Medical School students training with us on certain Tuesdays. They will sometimes lead their own consultations (in the presence of one of their GP Tutors - Dr Folan & Dr Hall), or they might sit in & observe different GP's in the practice or accompany GP's on their home visits.
We very much appreciate your assistance in helping them learn more about the common medical problems that GP's see and treat. Your consent will be gained at the time of booking your "student-led consultation" and also for observed consultations. The students learn by being "hands on" so we would be very grateful if you agree to them examining you (if appropriate) under GP supervision.
They will also have 1 hour consultations with patients who have complex or chronic medical problems or have had medical problems in the past, to learn more about the impact of these on the patient's life. If you would be interested in talking to 2 students about your medical problems, please let reception or your GP know and we will provide you with more information and a consent form.
If you have any feedback about the medical students, please inform reception or Jenny Lee (Practice Manager). We hope that you will find it a positive experience having enthusiastic students during your consultation and thank you (in advance) for helping us shape the future of General Practice.
